Susan R. Crystal assumed her duties as Consul General of the U.S. Consulate General in Toronto in October 2020. Previously, Susan held positions in Australia, Ecuador, Haiti, Mauritius, and South Africa and in Ottawa, Canada.

In Toronto, Susan is responsible for the full range of operations at the largest Consulate in Canada, working with colleagues from the Departments of State, Commerce, Justice, Homeland Security, Agriculture, Defense, and Customs and Border Protection.  Areas of focus in Toronto include working with Ontarians to build back better following the pandemic and amplifying our shared commitment in expanding the bilateral relationship. 

Originally from Shaler, Susan holds a degree in International Politics from Pennsylvania State University and a professional certificate in Leadership Coaching and Organizational Well-Being from George Mason University.
