About SNHL

Welcome to the Shaler North Hills Library!

Welcome to the award-winning Shaler North Hills Library (SNHL). We are so thrilled that you have chosen to visit SNHL. Owned, operated and fully-supported by the fabulous Shaler Township officials, board and residents; the Regional Asset District; and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, SNHL has something for all ages—FREE and open to all.

One library card does it all in Allegheny County! The Library is a member of the Allegheny County Library Association, a federated consortium made up of all public libraries in Allegheny County (including the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh). A card from any county library works at our library too.

Sign up for a free library card and enjoy a great collection of books, magazines, music, DVDs, and specialized eLearning materials. Enjoy access to great eResources such as ebooks, eaudiobooks, emagazines, and streaming movies & TV shows. We have computers and laptops available for use, as well as high-speed Internet access provided by the eiNetwork. If you can’t find something in the county library system, we’ll see if we can get it for you from another library.

A nationally designated Family Place Library, SNHL champions literacy and specializes in services to children and their families through innovative, award-winning programs. In addition, SNHL is well-known for its cultural and educational programs for adults.  You’ll be amazed at what SNHL has to offer this outstanding community – books and so much more!

Come meet our friendly, knowledgable staff!
