Exercise for Seniors with John Uddstrom
Meets every Monday and Friday morning, 8:45-9:45am.
Gentle exercise to keep you healthy and active. Conducted by certified instructor. Participants must register first time and sign a liability waiver. Pay per session ($2.00), directly to the instructor. Please arrive on time as the Library does not open to the general public until 10:00am. Participants are let in between 8:30 and 8:40.
Meditation for Everyone
Meets every Friday via Zoom. 9:30-10:00am. CURRENTLY ON HOLD UNTIL FALL OF 2023
Conducted by a certified guide, carve 30 minutes out of your week to learn simple and practical meditation techniques that can easily be applied in everyday life. Science based benefits of meditation include reduced stress and anxiety levels, improved mood, increased self-awareness, increased energy, memory boost, healthy sleep habits, increased immunity and unconditional joy. Through the practice of meditation, we cultivate inner peace, harmony and well-being. Each session will include a brief discussion and experiential practice. All levels of meditators welcome. Caring for the Caregivers
Meets the third Wednesday of each month. 1:30-3:00pm.
Shaler Library is working with Erin McMaster, a Memory Care Advisor from Promedica Memory Care, to host free monthly sessions for persons who are caring for or supporting a loved one with Alzheimer’s, Dementia, or other cognitive/memory issues. Registration is helpful but not required. Walk-ins/drop-ins always welcome! Call us with any questions.
