Welcome to the Shaler North Hills Library!

Welcome to the award-winning Shaler North Hills Library (SNHL). We are so thrilled that you have chosen to visit SNHL! Owned, operated and fully-supported by the fabulous Shaler Township officials, board and residents; the Regional Asset District; and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, SNHL has something for all ages—FREE and open to all.

One library card does it all in Allegheny County!  The library is a member of the Allegheny County Library Association, a federated consortium made-up of all public libraries in Allegheny County, including the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh.  Sign-up for a free library card and enjoy a great collection of books, magazines, music, eBooks, DVDs, audio books, puppets, specialized eLearning materials, high-speed Internet access provided by the eiNetwork and a friendly, knowledgeable staff.  If you can’t find something at SNHL, the staff will request an item from another public library in Allegheny County.

A nationally designated Family Place Library, SNHL champions literacy and specializes in services to children and their families through innovative, award-winning programs, such as Discovery Kids, Rumble in the Jungle and the Teen All-You-Can-Read Buffet.  In addition, the library is well-known in the county for its cultural and educational programs for adults.  You’ll be amazed at what SNHL has to offer this outstanding community – books and so much more!
