WiFi Access at the Library

The Shaler North Hills Library provides free Wi-Fi access to all library visitors. 

Getting online is quick and simple.  Bring your laptop, tablet, or eReader that you wish to connect to our Wi-Fi, and follow the instructions below.  Note: Your device needs to be equipped with built-in Wi-Fi capability, or have a Wi-Fi network card installed to take advantage of our Wi-Fi service.

Wi-Fi Access Instructions:  

  1. Turn on your laptop and make sure the wireless internet card is activated.
  2. Click on the wireless network icon on your computer and connect to the “Shaler Library” wireless internet signal.
  3. Open your browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome etc.).
  4. Enter your first name when prompted.
  5. Start surfing the ‘Net!

*The Shaler North Hills Library’s wireless network is not secure. The library cannot guarantee the safety of your traffic across its wireless network. It may be possible for personal data to be lost, damaged, or stolen while connected to the wireless network. The library assumes no responsibility for the configurations, security or files on your laptop resulting from connection to the library’s network. Information sent to or from your laptop can be captured by anyone else with a wireless device and appropriate software, within up to 300 feet.

Wi-Fi Mobile Printing Instructions:

Mobile printing allows patrons to print from their personal laptop or computer to the library owned and managed printers. This service is only available to patrons who use the library provided public wireless network. Patrons will need to download the appropriate print client to their Mac or PC.
