Renew an item

Any item may be renewed through our automated telephone renewal service, online with My Account or in person at your local library.  3 week items will be renewed for 3 weeks.  7 day items will be renew for 7 days.  Most items may be renewed twice, but material cannot be renewed if there is a waiting list.

Materials may be renewed using the automated telephone renewal service if:

• the item is not overdue,
• no other patron has reserved the item

When using the automated telephone renewal, please provide:

• your library card barcode number
• the barcode number of the item(s) to be renewed

Using My Account

• access My Account
• enter your name and library card barcode number
• choose Items currently checked out
• use check boxes (to left of titles) to check selected items to be renewed and then click on Renew Selected items button or choose Renew All button 
• Logout of My Account

If you are unable to renew your item using the automated telephone renewal service, or using My Account, your item may be overdue or another patron has reserved the item.  Please call 412-486-0211 during regular library hours.

Request an Item

You may request items at the circulation desk, or using the The Catalog in the library or at home.

Simply go to the The Catalog, find a book or other item you would like to request, and click on the "Request this item" button. 

You will be asked to enter your name, library card number, and where you would like to pick up your book.

All items may be reserved. When the material is available the library will call you and it will be held for seven days.
